It's IComLeavWe Time Again!

WOW!  It seems like we were just here!  Where did last month go?  So much has happened since last IComLeavWe and so much is right on the verge.  Here's a quick recap of the big events of last month for us (and, if your brand new, here's an intro post to bring you up to speed!):
  1. We sold our house in MN after 17 months on the market (after our move to Texas for work last year)!  Such a relief...and it feels like we can finally move on with the next chapter, which is hopefully our family.
  2. Tamoxifen and Arimidex definitely improved DH's SA!  We saw increases in both count and motility!
  3. We're officially in the countdown to the RE....SIX days and counting!  Thanks so much to the ladies who submitted their RE stories and advice.  So very helpfu!  Feel free to add yours as well!
  4. Today was CD1 of Cycle #8.  Boooo!  It's not as if AF's arrival was a surprise, but it sucks nonetheless.  I'm doing ok, though...see #3 and say it with me: "I NEED A PLAN" and, luckily, that plan (or at least the beginnings of a real plan) are a mere six days away.
I'm looking forward to either getting to know for the first time or just a little better this month!  IComLeavWe is the perfect way to cheer me up and make sure the next six days fly by!  Thanks so much for clicking over!

Welcome to ICLW. I'm hoping your RE appointment is successful and give you that measure of reassurance you are looking for.

Hi again! It's my first ICLW this month so I'm figuring it out. But I can't wait to hear about your RE apt. Mine is 1 week too! =)

Congrats on the house sale and the improvement in your DH's SA! Sorry AF showed up for you, but praying the RE has some answers!

Congrats on selling the house! That must be such a relief! We are renting out a condo that we meant to sell when we bought our house, but then the market crashed, and now we're stuck with both and rent doesn't cover our costs there...so yeah, I can imagine your relief, & it's nice to hear some good real estate news :)

For your 1st RE appt (just thought I'd add this on here since I'm here instead of on your other post!): be prepared that these guys are often strictly IVF doctors. I was shocked at my first RE visit to be told, at 27 years old, that we needed to go straight to IVF. I thought there would be some steps in between the 2 IUIs we'd done with my OB and IVF (I don't know exactly what I imagined those steps would be...but I wasn't ready to be told IVF w/ ICSI was our only option!) I walked out in tears, then found another RE who told me basically the same thing, but in a much nicer way, and by then I was more ready to hear it. Now with a new RE (actually in the same office as that very first one) who believes IVF is not in fact our best option...but that's another story. Oh also (& since you're a planner like me, I bet you've done this already!), make a list of every single question you can think of to ask in your initial consult. This may well be the longest conversation you ever have with your RE (and one of the few when your feet aren't up in stirrups), so it's your best information-gathering opportunity. And take lots of notes on his answers. Also have all TTC medical records with you if at all possible (or even send copies now) to get him up to speed on your situation. And, if you don't feel comfortable with this first RE, do not hesitate to find a new one! Good luck!

I remembering being very excited and nervous for my first RE appointment, too. And, actually, I saw the same dr the first 2 times I went, but I saw a different one when I went the third time (it's just based on who is there when you go). I actually preferred the one I saw most recently, and I may request to go on a day when he's there for my next appointment. The important thing is to be sure you have someone who is willing to listen to your questions and answer them thoughtfully, without making you feel stupid.

Good luck!

Thanks for your visit to my blog!

My husband is a fellow Minnesotan; he grew up outside Minneapolis, though he has been living in Arizona for the past 11 years.

Good luck on your TTC journey. Hope it will be a short one!

I am glad to hear that your DH has seen improvement with Arimidex. My husband is also on Arimidex and we are eagerly awaiting his next SA results.

I hope the days until your RE appointment fly by!
