This probably isn't the first time I've mentioned this (in fact, I know it's not), but it's a valid truth: I'm an analyst by day and a planner/worrier by night. Life is all in the details and the what ifs for me. I've done lots of research on REs and what to expect, but I still find myself with questions and wonderings.
So, while I know that I'll have plenty of questions up until the appointment next Monday, it also occurs to me that my blog friends might be able to help! I suspect that many of you might have posted about your first RE appointment. I'd love it if you'd link back to that post in the comments! It'll help me pass the time this week...and fewer surprises generally means less stress for us!
Thanks so much!

I dont have any information for you, but just sending hugs and positive thoughts for you guys for your appointment on Monday!
Haha, you just described me with your analyst by day and worrier by night. Except I do both all day and night. My first appointment with my RE was basically just talking. What he wanted to do, what tests he wanted to run. If I had bee on day 3 of my cycle I would have gotten a baseline blood work and ultrasound. I hope your appointment goes well!
I'm in the same boat as you, my first apt is scheduled Oct 29th but now I'm freakig out that I should go to a different RE. Anyways I will check back to see what others write. Sorry I have nothing to offer.
Apparently, I liked this site for preparation: http://www.ivf.com/tocmb.html.
And here's the link to my first visit: http://welayinrepose.livejournal.com/2008/06/06/
As a side note that I never realized until I looked that link up for you and think is pretty cool, my son was born exactly one year from the date of that first meeting with the RE. I hope it works that way for you, too!
This was my post after the first visit to the Re. It wasn't a great experience.. I hope your is So So much better!

I am so the same!! Analyst by day worrier by night. IF is a killer. I can't remember if I ever posted about our first RE appt. My advise would be to ask him why he thinks "x" is the plan you should take. For us, IUI is not an option and I am glad I asked our RE to go over DH's numbers so I could get why that was the case. Ask about the different lab and things he will want to run. Good luck!! Only a few more days until you have a plan!!
I started my blog long after my first appointments. But my main advice is take a note book and write everything down. Even if your Doctor says that you'll get a letter with everything in just say that it helps you to think if you write everything down. Because when you walk out of the doctor's room you will instantly forget about 60% of what was said (and the letters are never very detailed).
